Breezaire WKL-4000 Wine Cellar Cooling Unit Review

Breezaire WKL-4000 Wine Cellar Cooler

Breezaire WKL-4000 Wine Cellar Cooling Unit

Breezaire WKL-4000 is an advanced cooler as part of the WKL series for wine cellars in rooms with sizes up to 1000 cubic feet. You can find a number of different WKL series wine cellar cooling systems to cover areas ranging from 100 to 2000 cubic feet. These models include the WKL 1060, 2200, 3000, 4000, 6000 and 8000 at different sizes.

And they are all self-contained by nature and are compact in size. All of the units in this series including the WKL-4000 have the economical Sentry III control system by Breezaire and the performance level is well above average. There is a cool green LED-backlit electronic temperature display that is very simple to manage and read. And you can easily and precisely adjust the temperature on it. The airflow is blocked automatically by the blocked airflow protection feature if it happens to deliver high temperature in the room, due to the fan failing or getting blocked. There is also the power outage protection feature.

The cooling unit is ready to go as soon as you mount it on the wall as it will be sent to you completely charged and you can simply hook it up to an 115 AC volt source. Beige color Breezaire WKL-4000 weighs 81 pounds and measures 19.75 x 14.25 x 21.63 inches. So it is quite heavy and to get it up high for mounting, you do need to get help from another person to lift it. The way it keeps the temperatures in check is through the bottle probe that is an optional purchase and enclosure air sensors. It also offers the right amount of humidity by simply evaporating the water building up at the base of the unit.

And the extra water goes through a tube that is a bit higher than the optimal water collection level. So there is a tiny bit of design issue with the way the tube is connected to the cooler. But you can certainly get help from the customer support team if you run into any issues. Breezaire is a made in California cooler so it is probably designed for relatively lower humidity states like Cali and it will work a bit harder in higher humidity states in the south. This is not a very beautiful looking cooling appliance and small design issues encountered by people are reported due to their special circumstances but is an easy to use, functional, sturdy and reliable one, offering very good value for money. The WKL-4000 does the job well for the area it is recommended, that is up to 1000 cubic ft. Breezaire makes some very decent quality wine cellar coolers and this is no exception.
