The Smart Grinder Pro (BCG820 BSSXL) by Breville is the brushed stainless steel, sleek and modern coffee bean grinder with a 165W motor (110-120V) and great user-friendly features that are much better than the competitor model grinders in the similar price range. It lets you grind coffee between the very coarse French press grind and the finest espresso.

It offers programmable precision time grinding with the tough steel conical burrs that ensure the grinding heat is as little as possible. So that the essential oils in the coffee beans are protected. The previous non-Pro model that has been around several years had around 25 grind settings, while the Pro model has 60 precise settings through the dial on the right. But when you remove the hopper and the top burr and you’ll find ten adjustments here, giving you a total of 60 x 10 = 600 adjustments.
With the Dosing IQ, the grind time is adjustable with two-tenths of a second increment. And you can change the cup or shot numbers and the grinder calculates the proper drying time. It has an 18 oz bean capacity and can be locked so you can remove, store and transfer the bean hopper easily.
You have the option to use either the paper filter or gold tone filter basket. Let’s assume you will be brewing drip coffee, espresso or press coffee. On the Breville Smart Grinder Pro, you have the basic dose set on the Grinder Pro you will not need to reprogram anything as the system will remember the timing set in each range.
As soon as you change the cups the timing will adjust automatically to match it. It has an easily detachable grind tray that is kept in its place by a magnet and catches any overflow efficiently. With a total of 60 settings and more, it is designed to help with enhancing the quality of your coffee brew. You are given the option to choose between the ‘shots’ for espresso and the ‘cups’ for filter and French press. You can grind the coffee beans straight into an air-tight container or a porta-filter.
Breville Smart Grinder Pro looks great with the quality touches of a brushed metal finish (a lot of plastic in other models), has an 18 oz. coffee bean capacity, weighs 8.6 pounds and measures 19.1 x 11.3 x 8.3 inches. The bean hopper has a one pound capacity, with an airtight lid with finger pull. Your countertop will be free of clutter as there is the excess cord storage underneath.
