Mr. Heater F232010 MH9BX Buddy 4,000-9,000-BTU

Mr. Heater F232010 MH9BX Buddy is a portable radiant heater with a 4,000 to 9,000 BTU power, that is safe to be used indoors. It has been released only very recently, in august 2019 on Amazon.com. It is designed for heating the spaces of up to 200 sq. ft. and is suitable for use in cabins, tents, patios, workshops, porches and hunting blinds.

The built-in security features include the accidental tip-over shutoff and the low oxygen shut-off pilot system. You can adjust the heat between a low of 4000 BTU and a high of 9000 BTU/hr to let you control your comfort level. It weighs only 9.5 pounds and measures 9 x 14.25 x 14.25 inches- is lightweight, portable and easy to move around. You can hook it up directly to a 20-pound propane cylinder, but propane is not included in the package.

There is a filter (F273699) for all the Buddy models of Mr. Heater as it is needed for all the hoses that go into the disposable tank connection and with those threads. The hose rubbers have the unwanted oils that get into the gas stream to the heater. This is excluding the F273704 hose that is built free of oils. So if your heater uses a hose to feed gas, then it needs a filter. The heater does not run on battery power but propane operated, and the ignition is based on the mechanically generated spark. It is similar to the piezo ignition on the barbecue grills and you’ll get a spark when you push the button.

You will hear absolutely no noise after you start the heater. Please note that the Mr Heater Buddy can be purchased and used legally in California- it is California compliant. Because it runs on propane gas you’re recommended to have a small window open for ventilation. You Mr. Heater F232010 MH9BX Buddy 4,000-9,000may notice a bit of a smell from the burning gas but it is a not a big deal, nor a security issue. You may want to experiment and see for yourself as to how much venting you need. A 20 lb. propane tank will last between 48 and 110 hours as a 1 lb. lasts between 3 to 6 hours.

It can be connected to a propane tank in your RV as long as you have the correct attachment, the right fittings and the hose. And please you also make sure there is enough ventilation. We do not recommend it being used when you’re sleeping. Please be careful when you’re connecting the heater to a propane bottle, do it slowly and ensure the threads are lined up correctly. Even at the low setting it generates quite a bit of heat and will keep you warm in your tent at night. There is the low oxygen sensor as a built-in security feature and it will shut off automatically in case of a problem. It is a decent portable heater at a reasonable price and please feel free to check out the different Mr. Heater models at Amazon.com.
