Troy-Bilt TB220 159cc 21″ FWD Self-Propelled Lawn Mower
Troy-Bilt TB220 is a 159cc power front wheel drive OHV engine, self-propelled lawn mower with a 21-inch steel TriAction cutting deck and a lightweight design, at an affordable price. It is more suitable for use in medium and small areas than larger areas. Troy-Bilt TB220 is light in weight and easily maneuverable, as it weighs 83 pounds, measures 36.7 x 24 x 17.8 inches and includes a 1.9-bushel grass bag. It allows you to do side mulching and the height can be adjusted for your comfort level with the dual lever. The cutting deck height can be adjusted between 1.25 and 3.75 inches. You will also feel in control with the 7×11-inch large wheels when you’re mowing.
Troy-Bilt claims to take the testing to the extreme with all their lawn mowers, in their ads. There is the electrodynamic shaker table to test the durability of all the pieces of the lawn mower. Extreme temperature testing puts the mower to 105 degrees Fahrenheit of very high temperatures and each time the Troy-Bilt mower manages to stay cool and if not, it doesn’t get out on the market. And it continues to work as per usual when exposed to the below freezing temperatures. They have the drop test to see if anything breaks when they drop the unit from a certain height. And with bag test where they put lots of ball bearings and nails into the cutting chamber to see if there is any damage to the bag. Like with their other products, you will get a two-year warranty by Troy-Bilt, as a back-up of the quality of their products.
The company has more than eight decades of history and the headquarters are based in Valley City, Ohio with a few other locations around the United States. Troy-Bilt TB220 does the job it is supposed to very well, works wonderfully- cuts grass very nicely. You will always be able to start it on your first attempt even after not using it for several months. There were a couple of customers expressing their concerns about the level of customer support they received last year. But the company was made aware and no doubt they are working on the customer service matter. There is a thin red spring-loaded bar that needs to be held to the bar to run the lawn mower and it is also the kill switch. But overall, for the lower price point, the new Troy-Bilt TB220 is a very good lawn mower and you really can’t go wrong with it.
