Makita XWT08M LXT Li-ion Brushless Cordless Square Drive Impact Wrench
Makita XWT08M LXT is a new cordless and brushless square drive impact wrench for the best and most precise fastening performance with half an inch anvil and high torque delivered by its power efficient BL motor offering a maximum torque of 740 ft.lbs. as well as a breakaway torque of 1,180 ft.lbs so it is quite a powerful high end unit made of very high quality materials and components and powered by an 18 volt lithium ion battery. It weighs only 7.9 pounds including battery which helps with the user fatigue and measures 9” (from the anvil to the back of motor housing) x 4 (width) x 11” (height from the bottom of the battery to the top) so it is farily compact and has an ergonomic design. It is suitable for use in a variety of applications by carpenters, auto mechanics, pipe fitters, steel workers, railroad mechanics, iron workers and more. The nose is made of metal (totally metal and not partial as it may seem) but has black rubber protector to protect what you’re working on and the impact- locked in place but is removable for cleaning. So it is a mixture of metal (nose cone), very solid plastic (dark blue / green parts) and soft rubber (black grip and rubber bumpers on the sides). Makita Impact Wrench has a variable speed trigger and the harder you press on it the more speed and power you will experience, for applying maximum force on a heavy duty material you can press on it all the way and you have the directional change mechanism- press to the left for forward and to the right for backward and pressing to the center will lock the trigger.
When you barely press on the trigger you will see three LED lights at the base on the battery that shows the speed (this has 3-speed power selection for accurate fastening control- 0-900/0-1,000/0-1,800 RPM and 0-1,800/0-2,000/0-2,200 IPM) and will be at maximum speed, if you press the white T button on the side only one of them will light up and will indicate low speed, if you press it again you will have medium speed and again will take you back to maximum or high speed. The half an inch anvil includes a friction ring that enables fast and convenient socket change. There are no carbon brushes on its BL brushless motor and so it will run smoother and cooler and for longer as the batteries last up to 50% longer per charge- used efficiently to match speed and torque for different demands of applications. Battery has an integrated chip and the Rapid Optimum Charger communicates with it during charging to be able to get the most battery life by controlling voltage, temperature and current. The unit is protected against overheating, over-discharging and overloading by Star Protection Technology. Battery and electronics are separated / insulated from all the vibration caused by the vibrations created by the main unit with a rubber bushing so you won’t accidentally damage something. In the box you will get the Makita XWT08M LXT, (DC18RC) rapid optimum 4-port charger, 2 x (2) 18V LXT lithium ion batteries (BL1840B) and a tool bag and the warranty included is 3 years on the impact wrench, charger and battery.
