Cuisinart DCC-3400 12-Cup Thermal Coffeemaker

Cuisinart DCC-3400 12-Cup Programmable Thermal Coffeemaker

Cuisinart DCC-3400 is a modern design, fully automatic coffeemaker with a 12-cup capacity stainless steel thermal carafe. The 14-cup model on the Amazon product page is the cheaper DCC-3200 with a glass carafe, which is the replacement for the older Cuisinart DCC-1200 model. It has the great cutting edge coffee making technology for hotter coffee without sacrificing the taste or flavor.

It looks great in stainless steel and black and has a nice looking accented stainless steel handle. With the Carafe Temperature button, you can select low, medium or high. And you can choose the strength or flavor of your coffee through the Brew Strength Control. The brew time can be programmed for up to 24 hours ahead. You can make a single cup or up to 4 cups with the 1-4 cup button, adjusts the brewing. It has the Clean button to activate the self-cleaning feature. The 12-cup model has the thermal carafe that will keep your coffee hot for up to an hour and warm for about three hours in total.

It has a small blue-backlit LCD display that is easy to read- it shows the time and whichever settings you choose with the accented buttons. Brew/Off button will let you start brewing, pause it or turn it off so you can have a cup of coffee before the brewing is completed if you don’t have the patience to wait. You’ll see the Tone button at the top and lets you turn off the optional alert sound that beeps that tells you that your coffee is ready, and the beep can be a little too loud. The Bold button is for when you want your coffee bolder strength. You will know when it is time to decalcify with the indicator light signals.

Cuisinart DCC-3400 12-Cup Programmable Thermal Coffeemaker

Cuisinart Coffeemaker weighs 9.8 pounds and measures 10.1 x 10.9 x 16.4 inches. There is a water window on the side that shows the level of water in the water reservoir. You will find the measure markings on the side and the lid is easy to remove. The temperature is right and the coffee tastes better with the right flavor. You can pour the coffee with the lid on or without but it can also splatter a little which could be to do with the spout. And you need to hold the carafe upside down to get the last bit of coffee as is the case with other stainless steel carafes.

You will get a charcoal filter included in the box but if you want fewer sediments you can also use the paper filters. The thermal carafe on the Cuisinart DCC-3200 looks nice but shows the stains more too. It is quite large but you can also make a single cup or up to 4 cups as well. If you are getting any plastic taste or smell it will go away after a couple of brewing. Just try and use filtered water and the charcoal and paper filters if you want better results. The negatives pointed out by the customers are nothing major and this Cuisinart is an easy-to-use coffee maker that makes hot and tasty coffee.
