Knox KN-SMM01 is a 1.5 liter capacity stainless steel soy milk and soup maker with a 200 watt motor and 950W heating that will help you make healthy, tasty and fresh soup, soy milk, almond milk, porridge, rice paste and juice by pressing a single button in the comfort of your home kitchen. So you will see the on/off, start, menu, soy milk, porridge, paste, soup, fruit / veggie juice and self cleaning touch buttons at the top of the unit. It has a very modern appearance, looks great in stainless steel which also makes it feel sturdy, has handles to be carried easily, weighs 7.5 pounds and measures 14.9 x 10.3 x 8.9 inches- is optimal size and not bulky. It is very simple to operate as all you do is putting the ingredients into the tank and pressing a single button and easy to clean as the self-cleaning mode seems to work well- you just fill it 50% with water, press the button and start- it is a good idea to do a cycle for a few minutes prior to using it for the first time but it doesn’t do a perfect job so you may need to complete the task with your hand. If you’re worried about the higher fat in regular- cow milk or you are not tolerant to lactose then you can consider consuming more soy milk without any added preservatives, if you like the taste.
This unit will save you money and the effort of going down to shops as it will be very easy for you to make soy milk in the comfort of your home and it will cost much less. And the fact that you can use this modern appliance to make other things like soup, fruit and vegetable juice, paste and porridge with the preprogrammed buttons for mixing and cooking up to 5.5 to 6 cups. In the box you will find the Knox Soy Milk and Soup Maker, a plastic mug, a large measuring cup, a colander, a cleaning brush and an instructions manual that is not very well written but is easy enough to operate with touch buttons and with the markings inside you will find it easy to measure. You will still need to strain the milk to catch all the soy bean or almond bits and pieces and the result is fresh and natural but due to lack of all the added ingredients of store bought soy milk, it may not taste as nice or sweet. Making almond or soy milk takes about twenty minutes and soup about half an hour with the unit will mix all the ingredients and bring the soup to a quite hot temperature- result is a nicely blended and creamy soup.
