Smeta SCW-48-1 Thermoelectric Wine Cooler
SMETA SCW-48-1 is a thermoelectric wine cooler with a 1.7 cubic feet capacity, that can accommodate 16 Bordeaux style 750ml 2.5-inch regular wine bottles. It has a convenient flush back design, unlike many compact cooling units. You can put it in a cabinet or use it as a stand alone or countertop fridge, to store your wines as well as your beer bottles and other beverages.
There is no compressor on this unit but a unique and very efficient thermoelectric technology. It works with an 110V power supply and makes very little noise- only 35 decibels during the operation that you can hardly hear. It includes the automatic defrosting functionality so there will be no need for manual defrosting. You can easily control the temperature with the smart adjustable thermostat that helps keep it at the optimal level consistently and steadily.
It has a transparent see-through glass door so you will not need to open the door each time you want to see or before picking a wine bottle. This way the cool air will not escape and you will be saving on electricity bills. There is a small LCD display on the top of the door with the touch buttons
for light, Celcius/Fahrenheit converter and up and down buttons for adjusting the temperature between 51.8 to 64.4 degrees Fahrenheit.

It is very easy on the eyes and can be used as a freestanding wine cooler. The optimal temperature range for storing white wine is 46 and 54 degrees and between 55 and 64 degrees for red bottles. It can be used in home kitchens or living rooms to store and display your wines or as hotel mini bars.
With the adjustable leveling feet, you can adjust it to uneven grounds. With no vibrations on this cooling unit, sediments in the bottles will not be disturbed. There is a subtle interior light to help you see your bottles and is not strong enough to harm your wines. There are no moving parts except for the fans that help with the interior air circulation. It includes three slide-out chrome shelves that seem to be solid enough to keep your bottles. And you may want to take out a shelf if you will be putting in larger wine bottles. Overall it appears to a sturdy and reliable product that is good value for money.
