SPT UF-304SS Energy Star Upright Compact Freezer

There are three large pull-out baskets in this freezer that are 14.25 inches wide and 13.5 inches deep each. The bottom basket is 7.75” high and the top 2 baskets are 8.5” high. SPT Freezer has a black cabinet and a stainless steel door and looks nice and modern enough to fit pretty much any kitchen decor. It even comes with a lock and a key to keep your frozen items safe from theft.
You can adjust the interior temperature through the mechanical thermostat at the rear of the freezer. The temperature range for this SPT Freezer is 5 to 11 degrees Fahrenheit. This stand alone or freestanding design freezer is compact in size and will help save you on space with its flush back design. It would work well for those with limited spaces in their kitchens or flats. It still needs proper clearance for ventilation, 4” at the back, 12” at the top and 8” on the left and right side. SPT UF-304SS Freezer weighs 57.3 pounds, with the measurements of 21.1 x 19.4 x 33.8 inches for a 3 cubic feet net capacity. And it has a 66-inch long power cord.
The noise level of 40 decibels means this is a fairly quiet freezer that will not make annoying noises. You will hear some light humming when the modern compressor does the cycles. If you don’t leave freezer door open except for when you need to, the compressor will work much less and use up less electricity (120V). The estimated annual electricity use is specified as 240 kWh on this Energy Star rated cooling unit. And based on the national average electricity cost of 12 cents per kWh the annual energy cost is estimated to be 28.8 dollars.
This is not a frost free freezer but a manual defrost model and you will need to defrost it every 6 months or so. The door is reversible, giving you versatility and you can install it to open from the left or the right. This is a compressor type freezer that you need to let sit in an upright position for up to 24 hours before plugging it in and start using it. This will help the oils that may have leaked 
settle. This can work as a compact overflow freezer in your garage or basement as the temperature fluctuation shall not pose a problem to the compressor. Rust or corrosion may be the only problem to deal with.
The mechanical thermostat is a white box on the left at the back with a dial that goes from Off to 6. The rear location of the thermostat may be a design flaw for some. But once you set it to the optimal temperature you probably won’t need to change it again. It is a great looking stainless steel freezer that looks good and does the job well and works quietly, holds a lot and keep different items solid frozen. Please note that, as of at the time of this review, if anything goes wrong with the unit, you need to ship it to California for fixing and pay for the return transport.
